Day 56 - Hobbit Beach - Heceta Head

Field of greens.

Such crazy diversity of plant matter.

Ellie navigates the thick forest on the run-in to Hobbit Beach.

Mossy branches get caught in a temporary vortex moment.

There is a feast of mushrooms in the mossy garden.

But – for every edible, there is a deadly look-alike.  We have no clue.

The black fungus is amazing.  I wish I knew if I can eat it.  And not die.

The mossy patch is large – they must bring out Monks from Kyoto to do the hand pruning.

Barefoot in December.

Another game of beach runner for a small black shelt.

Barnacle rocks meet mossy cliffs.

Johnson the giraffic sea horse meets Darylen the crab.

Mother nature does the vertical garden.

The ancient hieroglyphs seem to signal a dire warning.

Tomorrow's storm looms on the horizon.  It seems our streak of good weather is up.  Hello, winter.

Beach's best Christmas wreath.

It's like a waterfall of anemones.

The Original Inspiration for Cheerios.

Signs of the season are appearing almost everywhere.

The lightkeeper's house at Heceta Head is all decked for festive times ahead.

Two light houses.

Heceta Light at 125 years old.

A little spot of bright.

The storm looms.  The Light Station House provides cheer.
